Bring transformative within traditional publishing

Sharmaine Lovegrove is one of the most influential figures in publishing today. She runs her own imprint, Dialogue Books, which shines a spotlight on stories for, about and by readers from the LGBTQI+, disability, working class and BAME communities. She also co-chairs Changing the Story, a Hachette UK programme of policies and initiatives promoting inclusivity across the publishing industry. Yet in her 20s, applying for jobs in publishing, Sharmaine couldn’t get a foot in the door. What did she do? And what advice would she give to young people starting out now? Come and find out!
