Bristol Museum: Illustration Opportunity

Illustrator Brief

We are looking for an Illustration Student to produce a series of 10 simple illustrations that show some objects and spaces at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery.

This is for a paper guide to a podcast trail, which is currently being produced by UWE students, that seeks to uncover uncomfortable histories around objects in the museum.

We are looking for a simple, line-drawing aesthetic, approx. 10 cm diameter, using 1-2 colours.  Illustrations can be hand-drawn or digital, and can look classical or contemporary in their style.

What’s involved?

–          Come into the museum for 1-2 days in June (exact dates to be arranged between us), to produce the drawings. We want to encourage your artistic style, but may give some feedback to ensure the drawings suit the overall project & audience usability.

–          We can pay an honorarium fee of £100, plus you will be credited for your illustration and profiled as an associate artist on the museum website.

–          Please apply by sending links to your illustration work to Claire.Simmons@bristol.gov.uk and Fiona.Russell@bristol.gov.uk by Monday 27th May.
