This year, Bristol becomes the first city in England to join Fair Saturday, a global movement which aims to boost arts, culture and social causes every last Saturday of November. Beginning in Bilbao, Spain in 2014, Fair Saturday has since grown into a global festival.

Fair Saturday Bristol aims to harness the creativity, curiosity and social conscience of our city, bringing together charities with cultural organisations in the city to sing, shout, create and reflect, and explore what it means to be a fair society, raising funds to support social causes in the process.

On 24 November at Spike Island we are thrilled to host the following:

Art in Motion (AIM): The Tea Service, workshop and raffle

AIM is a participatory arts organisation based here at Spike Island, creating opportunities for artists with learning disabilities and neurodiverse artists to take part within the contemporary arts.

• The Tea Service, 2–3pm

The common activity of drinking tea and conversation form the background to this artwork. Tea Service was developed by a group of artists who work with AIM. Discussion topics can range from art, disability and sense of place.

£15, limited to 9 places, booking essential

•  Workshop, 3–5pm

Join AIM artists to design your own plate using drawing, mixed media, collage and paint.

Recommended donation £10, pay on the day.

• Raffle, 12–5pm

A chance to win an artwork by an AIM artist, a plate from The Tea Service and some traditional raffle prizes.

Raffle tickets available between 12–5pm, tickets drawn at 5pm.

Rising Arts Agency: Speed Mentoring

Rising Arts Agency work with 16–25 year olds with creative ambitions—particularly those currently underserved by the arts—and forward thinking organisations and companies who recognise the importance of inclusion and representation.

• Speed Mentoring, 12–2pm and 2.30–4.30pm (15-minute slots)
