Graphic Design and Communications Intern

Description: The Graphic Design and Communications Intern is an exciting role at MRG which sits between Communications and Fundraising departments. This year, MRG is celebrating its 50th anniversary since the founding of the organising and the Graphic Design and Communications Intern will provide key support in the anniversary campaign messaging, communications activities and publications.

Graphic Design duties:

  • 50th anniversary leaflet – has been started but requires creative design and some content writing and inter-department liaison
  • Social media paid-ads design to drive donations for 50th endowment and Winter appeals.
  • Abroad events – design banners and satisfy aims in engaging audiences at the different events
  • Designing winter appeal
  • Work with news outlets to design advertisements for print and online media
  • Future strategy planning – key in steering the future design of the website
  • Other tasks as assigned by line manager.

Communications duties:

  • Work with MRG’s Communications Officer to compile an MRG Brand Guidelines document
  • Assisting in the updating of MRG content on our website (i.e. Online Directory)
  • Support in the production of digital content for MRG’s 50th anniversary campaign
  • Assist in the improvement in managing MRG’s photo database
  • Produce engaging visual content for MRG’s social media and digital platforms (i.e. infographics)
  • Other tasks as assigned by line manager.

 

Interns are expected to work 2-3 days per week (minimum 5 hours per day).The placement is based in MRG’s London office although there is provision to occasionally work from home.

Please note that this is an unpaid position, but interns are entitled to travel and meals expenses of up to £16.50 per day (reimbursed upon presentation of receipts).
