We’re pleased to announce that the Batsford Prize student award is back and we’d like you to enter. The award is judged by leading industry professionals and boasts a prize pot worth over £5,000.
There are four categories to enter:
- Applied Art and Textiles
- Fine Art
- Illustration
- Children’s Illustration (presented by Pavilion Children’s Books)
Plus, new for 2020 – 2021:
- The People’s Choice Award
The prizes
The winner in each category will receive a £500 cash prize. Winners will also receive £50 worth of books for themselves and £500 worth of books for their college.
The theme
The theme this year is, ‘Our Planet‘. We are looking for entries that show innovative and well-crafted interpretations of the theme, in terms of subject or materials used, or a combination of the two. There is no restriction on the medium used, and we accept both entries that have been made as part of coursework as well as personal work.
Entries for the Batsford Prize 2020
All entries for the postponed Batsford Prize 2020 award will be automatically rolled over to the 2020-2021 award. To allow students to enter new work, we have changed the limit of entries to two per student per category. We have also extended the eligibility criteria to allow anyone who was a student between September 2019 and March 2021 to enter.
