THROWING SHADE
Showcasing the work of six artists of colour based in Bristol. Nick Ogri, Stacey Olika, Ailsa Li Chern Fineron, Rediat Abayneh, Fatima Murtala and Anika Deb share personal stories and experiences on the theme of migration.

Throwing Shade is an exhibition based across multiple spaces, media and a myriad of cultures. Drawing on personal experience, six young artists of colour explore themes of migration and belonging. With a diverse range of media reflecting the diversity of their backgrounds, the exhibition features fashion, ceramics, sound, illustration and painting. In the two rooms of the exhibition and the space in between, Throwing Shade invites the audience to experience the tensions, questions and richness migration brings us – as individuals, a city and a world.
