Did they build these structures in the hopes of getting closer to God, like fingers of the Earth reaching upwards in an attempt to touch, to grab, to hold?
In an attempt to communicate, as we do now with our pylons and telephone wires and TV towers, reaching up and saturating the sky in our attempts for connection.
Many of us are very fearful at the prospect of starting life and the end of life. The aim of this project is to look at the contrast of working in a hospital, the place where most of us begin our lives and mostly where it ends. Speaking from the perspective of a Physiotherapist helping the elderly. To then look at the beauty of new life from the Midwifery sector. Beginning where it all ends sheds a light on the positives of what we fear the most.
This book is a collection of carefully selected terms of affection from a plethora of languages; it demonstrates how other cultures have formed beautiful words for these important moments of love, in the hope that we can all better our skills of deeper emotional communication.
Processed poetry is a collection of AI generated poetry from Chatgpt, as you flip through towards the end of the book the typography starts to “glitch” out. I wanted to depict the idea that AI may seem clever and almost human, but the “art” generated from it will always be machine generated and inauthentic. Imagery was generated by Ascii, from illustrations in my workshop booklets, turning the illustrations into keyboard icons.
