The Queer Eros investigates the relation between hard-to-talk-about intimate and erotic queer taboos based on artificial intelligence – using human touch, force, and sensitivity to alter the outcomes as either delicate or intense interpretations, helping to shine a light and incorporate the hidden revolutionary of queer artists, photographers, designers, and creatives.
The debris is about paying attention to the details. Localised on Gloucester road I have collected fly posters and the out of place waste that gets discarded. Reusing this material, I have transformed it in hopes of giving it new life. Curating a series of 10 poster designs, which I then put back into the environment I collected the paper from. My intention for this project was to get people to notice aspects of their environment they may pass by every day. To get people to pause and observe.
Significant Locations is a study exploring whether technology can dictate ‘significance’ within a personal context. By using the ‘Significant Location’ tracking service on an iPhone, Apple defines which locations are ‘significant’ to us. Challenging this, the publication contains a series of interviews asking participants to define ‘significant locations. Accompanied by a series of landmarks, the engraved brick acts as a permanent installation whereas the flag is a temporary symbol of significance.
This project is an insight into all things greenwashing and is designed to be used as an educational document to raise awareness of the matter. From the founder of the term to ways you can spot it and stop it, this publication has got you covered.
In my project, Altered State, I explore the history of the Troubles in Northern Ireland. My research into the conflict led me to look into similar nationalist conflicts around the world; such as in Corsica, the Basque Country and Palestine. I also aimed to link this project to current events by taking a look at the knock-on effects of the Troubles that are prevalent today. My work varies in outcomes; some aim to inform, whilst others aim to critique the situation. It is important to consider compromise when it comes to important issues such as national identity. These processes and outcomes have also helped me in understanding my national identity and the realities of being Northern Irish.
Swim Wild has become a selection of projects looking at Women in Water, the Wim Hof breathing method, Swim Safety and how beneficial open water swimming can be to the younger generation during times of stress. It’s my hope that from my selection of work that you as a viewer can find a story, or perspective to relate and connect to.
