Global Taste Symphony
Global Taste Symphony is a publication that brings to life a very unique cake recipe ‘The Opera Cake’ which comes in 4 different flavour combinations inspired by 4 different geographical locations: Asian, Scandinavian, Mediterranean and Australian. The book focuses on ingredient choices within each cake flavour combination as well as the flavour journey taken whilst eating each flavour combination of the cake. The book is encased with a laser engraved slipcase wooden box. Enhancing the taste journey was done throughout the use of typography, imagery, illustrations and colours, every detail. Fold out pages within the main publication are on a contrasting paper stock and once folded out are a physical representation of the long and interesting journey of taste in each flavour combination of cake.
Pace with me is a series of GIFs that helps people who are feeling stressed out to calm down by taking deep breathes and pacing themselves to the breathing tempo of these animated GIFs. The mood and tone of the visuals are based of the concept of a good dream.
A series of screen-printed plastic bags, exploring the experience of claustrophobia, using quotes from people who suffer from it. This series is designed to share the experience that some people go through everyday of their lives.
Through exploring the title “Inside/Outside”, I have created a short animation representing the frustration of not being able to get into your account because you have forgotten your password; also known as “password rage”. This animation is a result of looking at ownership and security online and the issues that occur when humans and technology interact.
These are small, double-sided cards with a logo and a recipe for a natural hair-mask. The cards are of a simplistic design, featuring illustrations and type to explain the measurements and ingredients used.
