The current Pandemic has highlighted the cracks within our system and radically changed our ways of working.
But does anybody want to go “back to normal”? Maybe this is the best time to re-imagine an alternative norm.

This event is run by: STREET CORNER READING ROOMS, a student-led project convening invited speakers and participants in a series of events in the spirit of togetherness and difference. Events might use readings or talks as a springboard to discussions and artistic interventions, resulting in documentation that could take multiple forms.

SCRR has been initiated as a partnership between Philosophy, Fine Art and Graphic Design programmes at UWE Bristol and offers the opportunity to students and alumni to submit a proposal to receive funding for a specific reading room idea. The initiative seeks to make the diversity of voices present in the student body heard and is supportive of pluralist discussion and anti-prejudice agendas.
